Kardashian Sisters in LBD's

Kardashian Sisters in LBD's

Everyone knows you need a Little Black Dress in your closet!  Black is a color that is flattering on most skin types, body types and hair colors.  It is slimming and appropriate for any occasion.  It can make you feel confident at any age and should be a staple in any fashionista’s closet.  You can’t go wrong with a Little Black Dress!

Finding the perfect LBD for you is crucial!  Let’s start with your height.  If you are petite in stature, the length of your LBD should not be below your knees.  Keeping the length above your knee will make you appear taller and make your legs look longer.  Petite girls should always pair their LBD with sky high stilettos!  This way you will look tall, fabulous and ready to walk the runway.  Girls that are naturally tall can pretty much pull off any length LBD but always make sure it is fitted to your figure.

A perfect fit can make all the difference in the world.  If you are a fuller figured woman, try to get a LBD that is ruched around the waist to chinch your waistline and give you that hour glass shape.  A nice cap sleeve or bolero can take that flattering look the extra step.  Go with a skirt that has a little flow, this way you can hide the area that most woman hate, their hips!  No matter what size you are, always make sure your LBD is tailored to your body.  Tailoring your LBD to your body will have you feeling confident and ready to rock the night away!  There is nothing worse than a bad fit!

Accessories are essential!  The great thing about the LBD is that it is a blank slate for awesome accessories.  Almost any color goes with black.  It all depends on what kind of statement you want to make.  You can go glamorous and wear rhinestone stilettos with a matching clutch.  Or you can go subtle and wear nude patent leather pumps with a set of diamond stud earrings.  Whether you want your accessories to be fun and flirty or simple and classic, pull the whole look together before stepping out on the town!

Little Black Dresses are everywhere!  They are available at all different prices and in a variety of styles.  With such a wide variety, there is no excuse for not having an LBD in your closet.  It is a staple that you can wear for years to come so make sure you find the perfect LBD for you!

Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen at Paris Fashion Week

Alexander McQueen was one of the most eccentric, raw, provocative fashion designers that always thought outside of the box. After his death in 2010, his legacy of pushing the envelope has been passed on to fashion designer Sarah Burton. Sarah Burton is keeping Alexander McQueen’s dream alive! The fashion house is getting more attention than ever. Sarah went from once being Alexander’s assistant to being the creative director of Alexander McQueen’s entire collection.

Having the highest expectations to live up to, Sarah Burton is making a name for herself under the Alexander McQueen label. Both Alexander and Sarah are British and after his passing, Sarah first major piece of work was creating Princess Catherine of Cambridge’s wedding dress to Prince William. Sarah immediately became a house hold name around the world!

Sarah Burton has recently shown her 2012 Collection at Paris fashion week. Her designs held true to the Alexander McQueen style but with a touch of her own creativity. The collection was extremely detailed and interesting. It appeared that the designs had a futuristic elegance about them. Each model had an interesting head piece that matched their ensemble. Alexander McQueen would be proud of the impeccable tailoring that he was known for, which Sarah Burton paid close attention to when displaying her first collection as creative director.

Sarah is in high demand! She has worked with famous names such as Michelle Obama, Cake Blanchett, Lady Gaga and Gwyneth Paltrow. After her extraordinary show in Paris, the phones will be ringing off the hook. British Royalty and celebrities around the world are taking notice of Sarah Burton’s drama and extravagance that Alexander McQueen embodied in every show. She is coming out with a label of her own called “Costumes by Sarah” in the near future. Her talent speaks for itself and Alexander McQueen would expect nothing less than a lavish unconventional fashion show that she definitely brought to Paris fashion week! Congrats Sarah Burton and keep up those fabulous fashion shows!
