Tulle Prom Dresses are a Glamorous Choice for 2009 prom

Tulle prom dresses have a different silhouette for the wearer than other evening wear choices. If you want to wear a long prom gown with a fuller skirt, then this is a great choice. The look is one that might remind you of prom dresses from previous generations, when evening wear meant a tight bodice giving way to a full skirt. This is still a wonderful fashion choice for a special occasion.

Tulle is a type of netting that can be starched to give it a stiff appearance. It can be manufactured from silk, rayon or nylon. In addition to prom dresses, tulle is often used for bridal gowns, veils and ballet tutus.

Many Tulle Prom Dresses Available

The Mori Lee collection includes a number of tulle prom dresses. One option available is a strapless prom gown made of satin and tulle. This strapless style is available in black, scarlet red, and a lemon yellow color. The bodice is accented by a decorative row of beading and satin ties along the corset back. The skirt is a full, ball gown style with multiple layers of tulle for a very striking and ultra-feminine look.

In another beautiful tulle prom dress from the same collection, this fabric is used on the bodice, as well as the skirt. Tulle is used as an overlay on the strapless bodice to add interest to this part of the gown. The bodice and skirt are further accented by a decorative beading. Again, tulle is used on the skirt of the long prom gown to give a fuller appearance.

Vertically shirred tulle is also used on the bodice of a pastel prom gown. This version is a strapless style available in yummy colors like Purple Passion and Pink Lemonade. A wide band of jeweled beads accent the waistline and tulle is used to give some body to the skirt of the gown.

The Jovani collection includes an interesting combination of a printed denim bodice and a tulle skirt in a pale green shade. This is a one-of-a-kind choice for the young woman who wants to wear something unique to her prom.

Not all tulle prom dresses are long styles. You can also find this fabric used in short prom dresses. The short, pink prom dress from the Paris collection is a beautiful example of this. The pale pink fabric is accented by a coordinating ribbon around the Empire waistline. This A-line dress comes to just above the knee, for a trendy short prom dress. Dancing will be easier than if you were wearing a long gown, too! The bodice and skirt are liberally decorated with decorative sequins.

Tulle prom dresses are still a great choice for evening wear. This type of fabric can be used to give skirts a fuller look and can also be used to create interest in other parts of the gown for a unique look on your special night.
