Amy Winehouse – Her Spirit Lives On…

We have all been saddened by the recent tragedy of Amy Winehouse. Her voice was amazing and unmatchable by anyone in recent generations. Even though the 27 year old Brit had only released two albums, she was just as well known as artists with multiples of albums and multiples of Grammys. Many did not know but Amy had passions besides music. A lot of her time was put to helping charities. Some of these charities were, Breast cancer awareness, Born HIV free campaign, and Hear the World campaign. Amy also shared a passion for fashion and designer dresses!
On this happier note, I am pleased to tell you all that in the coming Spring and Fall seasons we will see Amy’s influence back on the scene! Some of you may be aware that previous to this magnificent woman’s demise she worked with Fred Perry to create a line of clothes for his sportswear collection. Well…they did it again! Of course Fred Perry received the O.K. from Winehouse’s family. In fact, her father, Mitch Winehouse said, “When Fred Perry came to us to ask what we would like to do with the new collection it was natural to continue…Amy loved working on both collections, and would want them to be made available.”
So Exciting! It’s like fashion beyond the grave…but not creepy!
We don’t know yet what the new line will look like exactly, but you can see the older line at www.fredperry.com. All we know is that it will have the preppy, rockabilly style as Amy once embodied.
